Anna Lou Shaw, 86, of Walnut Ridge passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026, peacefully at home, with her family by her side. Anna Lou was born to the late Edward and Beulah (Stone) Abernathy on January 1, 1940, in Brownwoods, Missouri.  She grew up in Portia and attended school at Black Rock.  Anna Lou was united in marriage to Herman Shaw on September 8, 1956, in Hoxie.  She was the school nurse at Lawrence County School District from August 1979 until her passing.  She was a faithful, charter member of the United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Shaw, and only son, Blake Shaw.

Survivors include her three daughters and spouses, Teresa (Jerry) Jones of Little Rock, Janet (Glenn) Smith of Walnut Ridge, and Beth (Tim) Malone of Pocahontas; four grandchildren, Adam (Rachael) Jones, Emily Sledge (DJ Johnson) of Little Rock, Bekah (Owen) Beard of Walnut Ridge and Matthew (Journee) Shaw of Pocahontas, two step-grandchildren Spencer Malone and Halle Malone of Jonesboro; Nine great-grandchildren, Lily Harris, Weston Jones, Maddy Sledge, Ian Barnes, Charlie Sledge, Evan Jones, Emerson Jones, Eli Barnes and Mattie Rose Shaw, soon to arrive Juliana Johnson, five step-great-grandchildren, Conner Beard, Eli Beard and Alexis Beard, Kassidy Johnson, Deshaun Johnson; one sister, Betty Sue Boulton of Little Rock; daughter-in-law, Dee Dee Shaw of Black Rock; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 A.M. until 1 P.M. at United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will follow immediately at 1 P.M., with son-in-law, Glenn Smith, officiating. Interment will follow in the Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Adam Jones, Matthew Shaw, Weston Jones, Ian Barnes, Spencer Malone, and Owen Beard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Evan Jones, Eli Barnes, Conner Beard, Eli Beard, Lily Harris, Maddy Sledge, Emerson Jones, Charlie Sledge, Halle Malone, Alexis Beard, Jerry Jones, Tim Malone, Dr. Jack Vander Schilden and Taylor Nichols.
