Imboden – Arthur Jessen, Jr., 91 of Imboden, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas. He was born on January 8, 1925 in Imboden, Arkansas to Arthur, Sr and Emma Thorp Jessen. On May 14, 1948, he married Wilma C. Brown in Denton, Arkansas. He was in the United States Navy Coast Guard, serving in World War II, and received a Purple Heart. Mr. Jessen was a school teacher at Imboden, Strawberry, and Lynn, and elementary principal at Sloan Hendrix and Lynn. He was a member of Imboden Baptist Church in Imboden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma C. Jessen; son, Russell Jessen and twin sons, Ronald and Donald Jessen; brothers, Bill Jessen and Walter Jessen; sisters, Paula Nolen, Francis Grumbles, and Marion Ruth Hughes.

Survivors include sons, Gary Jessen (Tara) of Alabama, Joe Jessen (Beverly) of Imboden; daughter, Lyjuan Kelley (Larry) of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Debbie Jessen of Bono; sister, Naomi Moore of Florida; grandchildren, Beth Hook (Bryan), Jana Crowell (Brandon), Bryan Jessen (Kathryn), Brad Jessen (Tori), Garret Jessen, and Jacob Kelley; great grandchildren, Jalynn, Aiden, and Kenna Claire Hook, Braydon and Karlie Crowell, Everett and Montgomery Jessen, Cody and Landon Simpson.

Visitation will be Monday, August 29, 2016 at Imboden Baptist Church from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Funeral will follow at 1:00 pm with Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery at Imboden. Military honors will be rendered. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bryan Hook, Bryan Jessen, Garret Jessen, Brad Jessen, Brandon Crowell, and Jacob Kelley.
