Barbara Lee Turley Smith, 85, of Powhatan passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at her residence after a long illness.  She was born February 6, 1934 to Albert and Willie White Turley in Alicia.  She married Cleades "Shorty" Smith on March 31, 1953.  Barbara was a homemaker and was a member of the church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Turley; and her husband of 63 years, Cleades "Shorty" Smith.

She is survived by her sons, Cleatus Smith (Mary Ann), Tony Smith (Janette) Eric Smith (Linda), all of Powhatan; daughter, Vickie Adams (Randy) of Harrah, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jonathan Smith (Shannon), Zachary Smith (Jenny), Anthony Adams (Tara), Alisha Cheatham (Dustin) and Michael Smith (Tara); and great-grandchildren, Dalton, Colton, and Dristin Smith, Zach Smith, Justyn, Abigail and Makenzy Adams, and Hayden Cheatham.

Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge.  The funeral will be Saturday, September 28, 2019, 10 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel.  Cindy Bragg will officiate.  Interment will follow in Powhatan Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
