Swifton- Barbara Jane Wood, 90, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Unity Health Hospital in Searcy.  She was born on May 2, 1929 in Swifton to W.A. and Viva Hatfield Wood.  Barbara graduated as Salutatorian of her class at Swifton high school in 1947. She was employed by Mike's Lumber in Swifton and also managed Mike's Liquor Store for many years.  Ms. Wood was well known in her community and respected by many.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Marguerite Gwaltney.

She is survived by her son, Jim Wood of Swifton; a brother, Bill "Buddy" Wood of Swifton; grandchildren, Lucretia Wood and James Andrew Wood; great-grandchildren, Cagen Andrew and William Roy; and many friends and loved ones.
