Walnut Ridge- Benjamin F. "Sonny" Parish, Jr., 81, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at his residence.  He was born November 10, 1938 in Rockett, TX to Frank Sr. and Doris Parish.  He married Bernice Medlock Brown on June 22, 1998 in Black Rock.  He worked in construction and attended People's Faith Tabernacle in Hoxie.  Sonny served in the National Guard for eight years and enjoyed antique car shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara; and one step-son, Lee Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice of the home; three children, Flint, Jill, and Stacy; several grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, and seven step great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Barbara Whitlow (Bob) of Black Rock.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  The funeral will be Friday, February 7, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home with John Durham officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Britt Whitlow, Blake Whitlow, Lynn Dowdy, Jonathan Dowdy, Wade Dowdy, and Emmanuel Dowdy.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert Whitlow, Jr.
