Walnut Ridge - Betty Jean Davis, 85, formerly of Black Rock, died Saturday, July 4 at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab. She was born on August 2, 1929 to Pierce and Mary Warner Phillips. She was united in marriage to James Orville Davis on December 31, 1960, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Black Rock.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James (Jimmy) Davis; one sister, Verna Wilkerson and one brother, Barry Gale Phillips.

Survivors include: two daughters, Robyn (Pat) Roby of Black Rock and Vicki (Darrell) Leipert of Powhatan; grandchildren, Tamara (Aaron) Richey, Tyler Roby (and fiancée Ashton Alls), Sara Roby, and Olivia Leipert; and great grandchildren, Easton and Eli Richey.

Visitation will be Monday, July 6, from 6-8 pm at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, at 11 am at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Harold Russell and Blake Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
