Beverly Jean Couch, 81, of Portia passed from this life on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at her residence. She was born on January 5, 1945, to the late Herbert and Louise (Trotter) Duncan in Sharp County. She was united in marriage to Larry Couch on July 6, 1962, in Walnut Ridge. Beverly was a member of the Faith Worship Center in Portia.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband; son, Mike Couch; and brothers, Jerry Duncan and Larry Duncan.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Hillhouse (Donny) and Lisa Thompson both of Portia; siblings, Randy Duncan of Ash Flat, Bonnie Sweet of Cherokee Village, Sharon Swift (Sonny) of Ravenden, Mike Duncan (Bobbi) of Ravenden, Sandi Hutchinson (Randy) of Highland; grandchildren, Kevin Hillhouse, Stephanie Hillhouse, Mitch Thompson, and Blake Couch; great-grandchildren, Carley Franks, Addison Croom, Reese Hillhouse, Shaye Harris, Anthony Whitney, Mackenzie Thompson, Everleigh Thompson, and Cooper Thompson; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 12 P.M. until 1 P.M. in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge with funeral services immediately following at 1 P.M. Steve Alexander will officiate. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery in Portia.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Kevin Hillhouse, Mitch Thompson, Blake Couch, Mark Light, Steve Light, Matt Light, and Chad Couch.

Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.
