Beverly Meridith Lemmons, 78, of Noland died October 4, 2026, at the Green House Cottages of Walnut Ridge.
Born March 14, 1948, in Annieville, she was the daughter of Charles “Bud” Meridith and Virginia Meridith Davis. She married Bill Lemmons on September 3, 1994.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Belita Meridith, and a brother, Brian Meridith.
Beverly was a Sloan-Hendrix High School graduate. She raised two daughters with her first husband, Ronald Ring. Later in life she worked for the Lawrence County Cooperative School, where she especially enjoyed helping during the Special Olympics events. She spent 17 years working for the Lawrence County Department of Human Services, working with children and their parents, and foster families.
When her children were younger, she helped with the Smithville Busy Bees 4-H Club, spending many hours helping with the sets, costumes, and play practices for their yearly plays.
She was a member of Smithville Baptist Church.
Beverly adored watching her grandchildren at rodeos and ropings, baseball, basketball, and volleyball games, gymnastics events, archery competitions, and goat shows. She liked to garden and had a real green thumb with houseplants, and she was a voracious reader. Beverly also had lots of fun traveling, playing games, and fishing with her friends and family.
Survivors in addition to her husband include: two daughters, Marla (Dr. Roger) Helms of Smithville, and Penni (David) Carpenter of Detroit, Texas; two stepsons, Cole Lemmons of Pocahontas and Matt Lemmons of Doniphan, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Melvie Lemmons of Williford; four grandchildren, Aaron (Anna) Helms of Little Rock, Dr. Meridith (Taylor) Helms-Pack of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, Cole Carpenter of Overbook, Oklahoma, and Clara Mae Carpenter of Detroit, Texas; step-grandchildren, Hillary (Anthony) Bunch of Heber Springs, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Wantulok of Williford, Kenton (Tiffany) Lawless of Pocahontas, Kendall Wantulok of Imboden; step great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Nikolai, McKenzie, Weston, and Haisley Wantulok, and Sophia, Tucker and Wyatt Lawless; a sister, Barbara Hitt of Lawrence Hall Health and Rehabilitation; and a brother, Barry Meridith of Ravenden; plus many other family and friends.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 9, at Smithville Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Bro. Paul Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Annieville.
Pallbearers will be David Carpenter, Cole Carpenter, Roger Helms, Aaron Helms, Barry Meridith, and Conley Meridith. Honorary pallbearers are Matt Lemmons, Cole Lemmons, Mike Emison, and Bret Broadway.
