Bobby Joseph "B.J." Mashburn, 46, of Evening Shade, passed from this life on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his residence.  He was born October 30, 1974, in Pocahontas to Sherman and Lucy Evans Mashburn.  He married Kathryn Taylor on June 7, 1997 in Huntington, TX.  B.J. was a pipeline superintendent and was a member of Faith Worship Center in Portia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Mashburn; paternal grandparents, Sherman "Shorty" and Thelma Mashburn; maternal grandparents, Truman and Wilma May Davis; and one sister, Bonnie Sue.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Mashburn of the home;  his mother, Lucy Mashburn of Portia; step-mother, Geraldine Mashburn of Jasper, TX; his children, Katelynn Holley (Colton), Jacob Mashburn (Kaitlyn), David Mashburn (Tracey), Jessie Raughton (David Brannon) all of Evening Shade, Courtnie Barrett (Armond) of Cave City, and Cain Cherry (Angel) of Alabama; his brothers, Jackie Ray Mashburn (Aimee) of Clarksville, TN, Terry Mashburn (Rie) of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Natalie Lovelady (Kim) of Walnut Ridge, and Patricia Cook (Adrian) of Black Rock; grandchildren, Dennon Mashburn, Paiten Rasmussen, Mya Rasmussen, Kaydence Rasmussen,  Gabriel Brannon, Dakota Downs, Shaun Price, Jacob Price, Jerrid England, Jamie Allen, Silas Cherry, and Amellia Cherry; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Faith Worship Center in Portia.  Funeral will be Wednesday, May 5, 2021, 10 a.m., at Faith Worship Center in Portia.  Steve Alexander will officiate.  Interment will follow in Powhatan Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jacob Mashburn, David Mashburn, Colton Holley, David Brannon, Cain Cherry, Kenny Mashburn, Shaun Price, and Dakota Downs.

Honorary pallbearers are Adrian Cook, Heath Kennedy, Terry Mashburn, Jackie Ray Mashburn, and Kim Lovelady.
