Bobby "Bob" Charles Hanshaw, 89, of Powhatan passed from this life on Monday, May 26, 2025, at his residence. He was born February 26, 1936, in Powhatan to the late Warren and Ethel (Flood) Hanshaw. He was united in marriage to Shirley Boyd on February 6, 1966, in Strawberry. Bob was employed as a Euclid truck driver for Ben M. Hogan Construction Company in Black Rock for 33 years. Bob was a member of the Lake Charles Full Gospel Church, where he played music and sang.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Dub Hanshaw, Dale Hanshaw, Nuel Hanshaw, and Lorine Dunn; niece, Patsy Nunnally; nephews, Jim Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Davey Hanshaw, Gary Hanshaw, Dan Hanshaw, Virgil Brown, Darrell Brown, and Bobby Joe Brown.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Mae Hanshaw of 59 years of the home; nieces and nephews, Albert "Buzz" Brown, Allen Horton, Mike Hanshaw, Leona Horton Lawson (Rich), Gloria Smith (Rick Colley); his brothers and sisters in Christ from Independent Christian Assembly in Hoxie, and Lake Charles Full Gospel in Powhatan; and a host of others great nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with funeral services immediately following at 11 a.m. Ed Gregory and Gary Dauzat will officiate. Interment will follow in Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rick Russell, Rick Colley, Heath Russell, Denny Morphis, Travis Richey, and Tony Webb.

Honorary pallbearers are L.M. Duncan, Buford Eagan, Leon Goza, Tom Goza, and Gary Mashburn.
