Carolyn Sue Tribble, 77, of Smithville, passed from this life on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born on March 9, 1949, in Walnut Ridge, to the late Paul and Ruby (Borah) Prater. She was employed for many years as a secretary at Walnut Ridge Elementary School and later worked at Baymiller and O'Reilly Auto Parts. Carolyn was of the Pentecostal faith. She had a deep love for animals, enjoyed reading, and was a devoted and caring sister who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Cicerio and Edna Prater; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Lora Borah; and her nephew, Jimmy Tribble, Jr.

She is survived by her siblings, Jimmy Prater (Tonya) of Walnut Ridge, Patricia Johnson of Cherokee Village, Eddie Prater (Peggy) of Walnut Ridge, Paula Tribble (Jimmy) of Walnut Ridge, Sharon Stovall (Jim) of Black Rock, and John Prater of Walnut Ridge; special friend, Jimmie Lou Milgrim of Smithville, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Graveside services will be Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. in the Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge. Michael Bradley will officiate. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Prater, Jonathan Milgrim, and Delaine Berg.
