Carolyn Sue Wilson, 81, of Strawberry, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at her home surrounded by friends and family. She was born on October 29, 1944, in Lawrence County to the late Garland and Ruby (Kelley) Simpson. Carolyn was united in marriage to Charles Roby Wilson on September 28, 1961. Carolyn was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Annieville.

She graduated from Lynn High School and later earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Arkansas State University. In her early years, she taught school in Ravenden Springs, a role that reflected her steady dedication to helping others learn and grow. For 41 years, she served the community through the Lawrence County Department of Human Services, where she worked as an Economic/Medical Services Supervisor. Throughout her long career, she was known for her professionalism, compassion, and commitment to serving families with care and integrity.

Above all, she was a faithful caregiver to her beloved husband, Charles Roby Wilson, and a loving mother and grandmother who poured herself into her family. She found joy in the simple, meaningful things—gardening and cooking. She was especially known for her chocolate-and-apricot fried pies, a cherished treat many will remember.

She lived with a caring, philanthropic spirit and devoted many years to supporting the March of Dimes, reflecting a lifelong desire to make a difference in others' lives.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Joann Stratil; brother-in-law, "Big Frank" Stratil; and nephew, Barry Stratil.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Dillport (Jimmy) of Cabot and Donnie Wilson (Stacey) of Strawberry, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Fern Shelton of Portia; grandchildren, Matthew Wilson (Bethany), Mitchell Wilson (Jami), James Dillport (Cimi), and Chloe Skaggs (Luke); great-grandchildren, Zoeyanna, Sylvia, Adalynn, Joseph, Timothy, Clara, Charles, and Caitlyn; nephew, Frank Stratil Jr.; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2026, from 12 until 1 p.m. in Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge, with funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. Matthew Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Old Lebanon Cemetery in Lynn under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
