Waterloo, Iowa-Carroll Dean Thompson, 90, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.  He was born August 8, 1927 to Clarence and Alvina Gleason Thompson in Wallingford, Iowa. On April 20, 1957, he married Marlene Strauser in Waterloo, Iowa. Carroll was employed at Titus manufacturing for twenty-three years, worked for Black Hawk County for four years and retired from Chamberlain Manufacturing. He was a member of Hagerman Baptist Church and Burton Avenue Baptist Church.  He served in the United States army in Germany as a military policeman from 1945-1949.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; and sister Evelyn Dray.

He is survived by a son, David Thompson of Doniphan; daughters, Rhonda (Bill) Wise of Doniphan and Ramona Thompson of Warsaw, Missouri; brothers, Merlyn Thompson and Ronald Thompson, both of Waterloo, Iowa; grandson, Joshua Wise; two great grandsons, Oliver and Remington.
