– Charlene Ella Howard, 72, of Pocahontas, formerly of Black Rock passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at her residence. Born August 16, 1942, in Thayer, Missouri, she was the daughter of Bob W. and Gratie Wetzel Phenix. She was a member of Black Rock Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Howard; two brothers, Lloyd Phenix and Charles Phenix; and one sister, Meda Conley.

Survivors include one son, Ken Howard of Gobles, Michigan; two daughters, Charla Howard and Dana Driver, both of Pocahontas, Arkansas; three sisters, Sylvia Pitts of Monette, Arkansas, Ethel Copus and Goldie Mitts, both of Batesville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 am at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Derek Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge. No visitation has been announced.
