Powhatan – Charles Louis Rickey, 73 of Powhatan, formerly of Okean, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born on February 26, 1942 to Edward Vernon and Zuma Swift Rickey. He married Gaye Hibbard on June 30, 1984, and is a member of United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. He served in the National Guard.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Loyd Rickey of Okean.

Survivors include: his wife, Gaye of the home; sons, Charles Rickey (Nicole) of Siloam Springs, Robert Rickey (Diane) of Pocahontas, Jamey Sullinger (Kara) of Pocahontas; daughters, Robin Vaughn (Mike) of Pocahontas, Becky Brown of Clover Bend, Natalie Culbreath (Michael) of Memphis; brothers, Elston Rickey (JoAnn) of Paragould, Nelbert Rickey (Kay) of Pocahontas; Joe Rickey (Kathy) of Wichita, Kansas; sisters, Margie Gentry of Okean, Melba Watts of Huntsville, Elba Stanley of Springdale, Thea Hughes (Joe) of Cabot; 13 grandchildren ; one great grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, October 5, 2015, from 6-8 pm at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1 pm at Cox Funeral Home with Glenn Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Ridge Cemetery in Delaplaine under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
