Charles Steven "Steve" Cooksey, 73, of Walnut Ridge passed from this life on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge.  He was born September 23, 1950, in Walnut Ridge to the late George and Pauline (Recker) Cooksey. He was united in marriage to Donna Sue Spargo on September 12, 1970, in Walnut Ridge. He was a truck driver and oil field worker during his lifetime. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and United States Air Force during the Vietnam war.  Steve was of the Christian belief.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his children, Chip Cooksey (Hollie) of Uniontown, Jill Brown (Alex) of Jonesboro, and Jordan Cooksey (Sara) of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Martha Davis of Pocahontas and Roxann Hibbs (Willard) of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Maranda, B.J. Danica, Wyatt, Logan, and Emmett.

Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2024, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  Funeral services will follow immediately at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Military Honors will be rendered.
