Cleo Lavon "Heavy" Light, 81, of Clover Bend, Arkansas left his earthly life March 24, 2024 while surrounded by loving family.  He was born July 10, 1942 to the late Cleo and Thelma (Hartley) Light.  Heavy worked several different jobs in his career: car and feed salesman, farmed crops, raised worms, crop insurance adjuster, even owned a grocery store. Throughout all of that, what he mostly enjoyed was raising cattle and had been doing so since 1963.  Heavy never met a stranger and loved to find bargains at yard sales with his wife. He loved to trout fish on Spring River and spend time with his family.  He was a faithful Christian of the Free Will Baptist belief and was a member of the Arbor Grove congregation.

In addition to his parents, Lavon was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie (Rogers) Light, sister, Jone Dacus, brothers, Jerry Light, Ron Light, Gary Light, and Glen Light.

He is survived by his wife Betty (Fletcher) Light of the home; children Becky (Scott) Durham of Jonesboro, David (Kim) Light of Clover Bend, Terry (Tracey) Crafton of Jonesboro; sisters, Sharon Goodwin of Hoxie, Janet (John) Staudinger of Winchester, Arkansas; brothers Ben Light of Batesville, James Light of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Charlie Light of Atlanta, Georgia, Jack (Michelle) Light of Centerville, Tennessee; grandchildren Josh Durham, Haley Durham, Sarah (Logan) Orrick, Samuel (Sierra) Light, Hannah Light, Kaitlyn Crafton, Destiny Crafton, Tanner Crafton; great-grandchild, Shiloh Orrick.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 12 until 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. Gary Mashburn will officiate.  Interment will follow in Strangers Home Cemetery in Alicia under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Samuel Light, Joshua Durham, Tanner Crafton, Logan Orrick, Mason Koenigseder, and Jay Light.

Honorary pallbearers are Bob Goodwin, Clark Gatewood, Sam Montgomery, Leslie Oldham, Billy Brown, Donnie Hancock, and Gerald Adkisson.
