Cloyd Lavern Cox, 79, of Pocahontas died January 21, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born February 27, 1934 in Pocahontas to Vernon and Elizabeth Welch Cox. On November 9, 2007 he married Mildred Brown Rogers in Jonesboro. He was a truck driver, in the dry cleaning business, school bus driver, a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of Pyburn Street church of Christ in Pocahontas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Cox; step-daughter, Jessie Maria Coffey.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of the home; step-sons, Michael Cornel Rogers of Avon, IN, Wayne Rogers of Jonesboro, Tom Rogers of Branson, MO; eight step-grandchildren; niece, Kelly Steimel; nephew, Warren Cox.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 23rd from 11:00 am to 12:00 Noon at the Cox-Fears Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation with Jon Fears and Eric Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.
