Cody Andrew Jackson, 38, of Trumann, formerly of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 22, 1987, in Jonesboro to Billy Burrow and Wanda (Jackson) Russell. He was employed as a security officer at Arkansas State University and Flower’s baking company during his life. Cody was of the Christian belief.

Cody was an old soul who appreciated good music, from classic country to rock and roll. In his younger years, he was a huge fan of Billy Ray Cyrus and Britney Spears, and he always had a drum beat in his hand. His love of music led him to travel and play drums as a backup musician for the Wolf Pack Band and Bad Habit. Cody also enjoyed line dancing with his mother.

Cody was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tom Brady fan. He had a sweet tooth and could rarely pass up his favorite candy, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. He also enjoyed mowing yards, a simple pastime that brought him satisfaction.

Family was especially important to Cody. As children, he and his brother, Jordan, always had each other’s backs, and that bond remained special throughout their lives. As a family, they looked forward to weekly game nights and the time spent together. Cody had one of the softest hearts and had a special way with children. He adored his nieces and nephews and cherished the time he spent with them.

Cody will be remembered for his love of music, his gentle heart, his sense of family, and the many little things that made him uniquely himself.

Cody was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John Russell Jackson, and Carol Sue Jackson; and maternal step-grandfather, Walter Callahan Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda (Jackson) Russell; father, Billy Burrow; son, Phillip Lynn Gibson; brother, Jordan Jackson (Jessica); fiancé, Amy Walters; aunts, Angela Panneck (Brent), and Crystal Wilson (Patrick); nieces and nephews, Elijah Jackson, Logan Jackson, Taysom Jackson, Jace Eldridge and Brooke Eldridge; beloved cousins, Brooklyn Panneck and Jon Aaron Wright; and a host of other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. There will be no burial at this time.

Honorary pallbearers are Jordan Jackson, Rickey Oswald, Brent Panneck, and Charlie Panneck.
