– Darnell Potter, age 82, of Walnut Ridge passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Jonesboro. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Brookfield, Missouri to Albert Darnell and Lily Neal Potter. Mr. Potter was a graduate of Pocahontas High School, and attended University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. On August 14, 1959, he married Anna Bell Lehr, and they made their home in Walnut Ridge, where he ran the local bus station for several years. He was employed by Skil Corporation in Walnut Ridge for nineteen years, and was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert Darnell and Lily Potter, and his son-in-law David Brooks.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Bell Lehr Potter of the home, a son, Mark Potter (Laura) of The Woodlands, Texas; four daughters, Elizabeth Brooks of Alma, Arkansas, Mona Parker (Danny) of Jonesboro, Cindy Hollcraft (Chip) of Annandale, Virginia, and Lynda Russell (Clarke) of Richardson, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 19, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge, with rosary preceding visitation with Marlyn Tate leading. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Garden in Pocahontas under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
