Alicia – Dr. David Scott Ponder, 39, of Alicia passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 in Walnut Ridge.  He was born in Jonesboro on November 22, 1976 to Terry Edward and Susan Williams Ponder.  He married Valerie Sturgill on December 27, 1997 in White's Creek, Tennessee.  He was pastor of Arbor Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Edward Ponder.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie of the home; daughter, Debra Lynne Ponder of the home; mother, Susan Williams Ponder of Imboden, and countless relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 24, 2016 from 6 pm – 8 pm at First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.  Funeral services will be Friday, November 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church, with Tim Campbell and Blaine Liscomb officiating.  Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Wesley Crisler, Drew Tillman, Josh Graddy, Bradley Williams, Peyton Tillman, Rylee Lewis, Shaun Allen, and Neal Carpenter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Ponder, Nick Ponder, Tyler Williams, Seth Williams, and also members of Social Band Association and Lawrence County Ministerial Alliance.
