Donald Max Sanders, 77, passed from this life on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at his residence.  He was born on November 1, 1943, in Wild Cherry, Arkansas.  He married Patricia Stormes on July 23, 1966, in Black Rock.  Donald was a self-employed welder and gravel hauler and served in the National Guard for six years.  He was of the Pentecostal belief.

Preceding him in death were: his father, Freddie Pickney, Sr.; his mother, Viola Lawrence; sisters, Diane Ragsdell and Sharon Berlecamp; and a nephew, Wayne Darris.

Donald is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; son, Michael Sanders (Jody) of Hoxie; siblings, Freddie Pickney, Jr. (Nancy), Bobby Joe Pickney (Elizabeth), and Jeanette Darris, all of Black Rock; grandchildren, Alyssa Sanders, Carter Sanders, and Lulani Sanders; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  The funeral will follow immediately at 2 p.m. with Bro. Rick Hart officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jerry Gilliam, Bob Aaron, Cole Ashlock, Larry Sexton, Billy Doyle, and Ronnie Malone.
