Donna Louise Goff Cox, 76, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge. She was born on March 12, 1941 in Evening Shade to Roy and Zola Christine Kunkel Goff.  On December 31, 1989 she married Clell Cox in St. Louis, MO.  She was a devout Christian throughout her life and longtime member of the church of Christ. Upon graduating from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, Missouri, Donna began her career in time and motion studies for Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc.  Later she joined the Mental Health Association of St. Louis as an office manager and bookkeeper.  This began a career path in the field of not-for-profit bookkeeping, budgeting and accounting.

In the 70's she developed her own business specializing in not-for-profit accounting working with many St. Louis United Way agencies.  Eventually she and her husband moved to Arkansas where they owned and operated a number of funeral homes in Salem and Pocahontas including Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Donna was a talented painter who received a number of awards for her work. Her focus was usually nature especially birds and landscapes.  She was also an accomplished musician playing many instruments including the oboe and xylophone.  As a young woman she taught piano to children.  Other activities she enjoyed were birding, fishing, nature walks, trips to museums and art shows.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Survivors include a brother, James Goff of California and three nephews.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Spokane Cemetery in Spokane, MO with Steve Martin officiating. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
