Doris Jean Cozart, 71, of Pocahontas passed from this life on Friday, October 25, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 6, 1953, in Watervliet, Michigan to the late John Wolverton and Virgie Briley. Doris was united in marriage to Jerry Cozart on April 27, 1984, in Imboden. She was a meat cutter at Price Chopper for nineteen years and was employed at Paslode for many years. Doris was strong, independent, and a loving mother and nana who took pride in her family. She was always there to pick her children and grandchildren up when they fell. Doris never met a stranger. She was a woman of strong faith and loved the Lord.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by siblings, Cathy Murphy and Kenneth Briley; nephew, Kenneth Briley Jr.; and stepfather, Charlie Miller.

Doris is survived by her husband, Jerry Cozart of forty-one years of the home; daughters, Shawna Davis of Pocahontas and Pashia Cozart of the home; sister, Evah Blansett (Carl) of Black Rock; grandchildren, Dylan Davis (Jennifer), Kyra Bennett (Blake), Caydence Davis, Alexus Kidd, and Zyniah Clark; great-grandchildren, Landon, Remi, Bentley, Makenna, Jackson, Harper, Easton, and Rune; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2024, from 6 until 7 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. A celebration of life will follow at 7 p.m. There will be no burial. All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
