Imboden- Eldon General Simmons, 88, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.  He was born on July 19, 1930 To Harvey and Elsie Blackshear Simmons. Eldon was a lifetime resident of Lawrence County and was a farmer and cattle rancher.

Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Clodell Wilson Simmons; second wife, Joyce Ragsdell Simmons and a son, Terry Simmons.

Survivors includes two sons, Mike Simmons (Janet) of Jonesboro and Gary Simmons of Hoxie; step daughter, Rene Downing (Bobby Joe) of Imboden; stepsons, Greg Ragsdell of Imboden and Joe Ragsdell (Tammy) of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Kevin Simmons and Sarah Looney (Billy); great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Kandon, and Kregan Looney; several step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren, special friend, Janet Latham.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with funeral following at 1 p.m. Jerry Clements will officiate.  Burial will follow in Strangers Home Cemetery near Alicia.
