Ella Marie Sammons Rorex, 83, of San Antonio, TX (formerly of Lawrence County) died Saturday at her residence. She was born July 2, 1930 in Egypt, Arkansas to Samuel and Edna McDaniels Sammons. On October 8, 1949, she married Cecil Rorex in Egypt. She worked as a hospital unit secretary and was a member of the United Methodist Church in San Antonio, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil, of the home; sons, C. Douglas (Jane) Rorex of Jacksonville, IL and Jeffrey C. (Margaret) Rorex of San Antonio, TX; brother, Tommy Sammons of CA; step-grandchildren, Paul, Keith, and Stephan Norman.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Cox-Fears Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation under the direction of Cox-Fears Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Jay Justus officiating. Burial will follow in Markham Cemetery at Egypt.

Pallbearers: Paul Norman, Keith Norman, Stephan Norman, Sam Poe, Bruce Payne and Gary Grier. Honorary: Steve Payne.
