Elnora Hefner, 84, of Walnut Corner passed from this life on June 4, 2020 after a long battle with cáncer.  She was born on September 30, 1935 in Greene County to the late Joe Dell and Helen Forkum Lenderman.  She married Lloyd Hefner on June 17, 1951 in Light.  She was a member of Walnut Corner General Baptist Church.  Elnora was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, gardening, and flowers.  She was a wonderful cook and was known for her famous pecan pies.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd of almost 69 years; son, Keith Hefner (Patricia) of Walnut Corner; daughter, Kathy Proffitt of Jonesboro; brothers, Clifford Lenderman (Carolyn) of Jonesboro and Bill Lenderman of Walnut Corner; sister, Mildred Dennis of Paragould; granddaughter, Jennifer Watson (Mike) of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19 a 6-foot distance must be maintained between individuals and family groups at the cemetery. Each person must give their name and contact number to funeral home employee. Facial masks are required to be worn at all times at the cemetery.

Graveside service will be Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10 a.m. in Lorado Cemetery.  Mark Walker will officiate.  All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
