Walnut Ridge-Jewell "Evelyn" Williams, 89, of Walnut Ridge passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge.  She was born December 5, 1930 near Greene County to the late Cuttler and Olive Cook McGuffy.  Evelyn married Arlen Williams on February 22, 1947 in Hoxie.  She was a homemaker and was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Glendon Williams (Susan) and Edward Williams; brothers, Mack Turner and Junior McGuffy; grandchildren, Jason Williams and Brett Williams; and son-in-law, Troy Cooper.

She is survived by her husband, Arlen of the home; daughters, Oleta Cooper of Bono and Sherry Thielemier (Chuck) of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Kevin Cooper, Charles Thielemier, Dustin Thielemier, Kalinda Moore, and Trevor Williams; daughter-in-law Teri Williams of Walnut Ridge; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Bill Willard officiating. Interment will follow in Markham Cemetery near Egypt under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
