Black Rock- Faye Shannon, 86, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.  She was born February 15, 1934 in Black Rock to the late Cecil and Johnny Woodson Meeks.  Faye was a member of the Black Rock church of Christ.  She was a licensed practical nurse and a homemaker during her lifetime.

In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Eldon Shannon; brothers, Charles, Frank, Otho, and Herschel Meeks; one infant brother; and one sister, Shirley Williams.

She is survived by sons, Charles Shannon (Dianne) of Conway, and Chester Shannon (Marlene) of Tuckerman; daughter, Debbie Shannon of Black Rock; brothers, Jimmy Dean Meeks, Bill Meeks, and Curtis Meeks all of Black Rock, and Winston Meeks of Ravenden; grandchildren, Seth Clark, Paige Scurlock, Spencer, Jayden, and Brette Shannon; great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Jace, and John William Clark, and Owen and Abram Scurlock.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 1, 2021 at 1 p.m. in Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock.  Steve Prestidge will officiate.  All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Home Inc. located at 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450 or Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Seth Clark, Jarrett Clark, Jace Clark, Drew Scurlock, Spencer Shannon, and Jayden Shannon.
