Freida Mae Dixon of Smithville, Arkansas

April 5, 1933 - July 22, 2020

Smithville- Freida Mae Dixon, 87, of Smithville unexpectedly passed from this life Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.  She was born April 5, 1933 in Kennett, Missouri to Roy and Dottie Boyd Fort.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Annieville, Arkansas.

Frieda and her first husband Raymond owned and operated a dry cleaners in Kennett. She was an avid seamstress, and later worked in a tailor shop. She loved dancing, bowling, music, old movies, and Patsy Kline.  She and her husband Dick owned and operated an auto parts store in Jonesboro and a cattle farm in Smithville.

She is survived by her sister, Juanita Johnson (Earl) of Florida; son, Scotty J. Davis (Carrie) of South Carolina; daughter-in-law Kathee Davis of Missouri; stepson Nolan Dixon (Sandy); stepdaughters June Horne, Annette Carr (Jerry); Diane Pierce (Gaylon), Traci Cole (Myron); step-daughter in law Carolyn Dixon; grandchildren, Jeremy Miller (Staci), Cassie Davis, Drew Davis (Carissa), Becky Shapiro (Kenny), and Tyler Davis; dear step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great-great grandchildren and great-great step-grandchildren, and host of other wonderful family members and friends.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her first husband Raymond Davis, her husband, W.M. Dixon; daughter, Rebecca F. Miller; son, Daniel R. Davis; stepson Randy Dixon; brothers, James, Billy Joe, and Cletus Fort; and a sister, Phillis Heskett.

Visitation will be Monday, July 27, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  Funeral will follow immediately at 12 p.m. with Jerry Clements officiating.  Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery in Smithville under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Monetary donations in Frieda's name will be accepted in lieu of flowers.
