Gabrielle Jane Gates, 18, of Black Rock passed away October 24, 2017.   She was born February 6, 1999 in Jonesboro to Sandra Gates. She attended Black Rock High School and was a 2017 graduate of Hoxie High School. She was a freshman at Black River Technical College and employed at Williams and Morris Accounting in Imboden.

She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Charlie and Lura King; paternal great grandparents, Amos and Cora Lee Gates.

She is survived by her parents, Gary Blackburn and Sandra Morgan of Black Rock; sisters, Christina (Michael) McGonigal of Walnut Ridge, Megan (Juan) Parada-Oliveras of Quincy, Illinois; grandparents, J.R. Gates and Melba Gates, both of Walnut Ridge and Helen Blackburn of Hoxie; step brothers, Justin (Mandy) Blackburn of Lynn and Jonathan (Olivia) Blackburn of Batesville; future fiancé, Austin Morris of Ravenden; nieces, Kayla and Alyssa Hoffman, Abbie Parada-Oliveras; nephews, Izick and Austin Parada-Oliveras; step nephews, Braxtan and Tripp Blackburn; step nieces, Natalie and Claire Blackburn and Layla Nunnally; god child, Callie Morgan; and several other uncles, aunts and relatives.

Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home with Tanner Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Kevin Morris, Tahl Gomez, Glenn Blackburn, Tommy Blackburn, Jonathan Blackburn and Justin Blackburn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Gomez, Curtis Goodwin and the Hoxie High School class of 2017.
