Gary Don Johnson, 73, of Walnut Ridge, passed from this life Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his residence.  He was born May 4, 1944 to Silas and Cecil Rice Johnson in Pocahontas.  He married Carol Kidd on June 7, 1963 at Augusta.  Gary was self employed as a carpenter and painter before retiring.  He was of the Church of God belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Swift; brothers, Bob, Johnny, Harold and Billy Johnson and a sister, Patsy Stone.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of the home; a son, Jeffery Johnson(Paula) of Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Lisa Currie (Robert) of Searcy; two sisters, Joann Atkins (Bob) of Paris, TN and Sharon Ray of Maynard; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Harvey Noblin officiating.
