Walnut Ridge-Eugenia "Genie" Coles, 86, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at her residence.  She was born July 2, 1932 to Felix and Anna Lauro in Princeton, New Jersey.  She married Roy Coles on August 4, 1956 in Oxnard, California.  Genie was a kindergarten teacher and of the Presbyterian faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Salvatore Lauro.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Coles of Walnut Ridge; daughters, Dr. Ellen Holloway (Ron) of Walnut Ridge, Dr. Felice Coles of Oxford, Mississippi, and Dr. Janine Islam (David) of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Trey Holloway, Luke Holloway, Susan Islam, Jeffrey Islam, and Maria Islam.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend John Arnold officiating.  Interment will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
