Georgia McCabe, 71, formerly of Smithville, died February 15th, 2014 in New Iberia, LA. She was born July 30, 1942 in Waco, TX, to G.W. and Alma Snider Goolsbee. In 1968, she married Lawrence "Larry" Gene McCabe and moved to Franklin, LA. The McCabes moved to Smithville in 2007. Georgia relocated to New Iberia, LA in 2011 to be near family following her husband's death.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; and an infant brother, Mark.

Survivors include her sons, Scott McCabe (Gail), Stephen McCabe (Leriza), David McCabe (Lacey), Solomon McCabe; daughters, Kristal DeMahy (Shane) and Holly McCabe; grandchildren: Britlyn, Travis, Hailey, and Jessica McCabe; Chloe and Sean DeMahy; Alissa, Jackson, and Olivia McCabe; Toni and Romey McCabe.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, February 28th, at 11:00 am, at the Townsend Cemetery in Smithville. Services will be under the direction of Cox-Fears Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Roger Randolph officiating.

Pallbearers are Scott, Stephen, David, Solomon, and Ronald McCabe, and Shane DeMahy.
