Dr. Harold Norwood Willmuth was born September 6, 1930 to the late Hal and Amy (Mason) Willmuth in Strawberry Arkansas at the dawn of the Great Depression - a time when peace and comfort were unimaginably scarce, and even the noblest of people gave way to despair. Learning to live and to love in such conditions is to, through hope and perseverance, endure the harshness of the world so that others may experience the joy and freedom which oneself was deprived. A member of "The Greatest Generation", Harold personified this title. He dedicated his life to serving his community through his 55-year long dental profession, and his many philanthropic endeavors. Through ceaseless hard work, he built a permanent nest of safety for everyone he loved, and walked in the shadow of his savior, Jesus Christ, sacrificing his own comfort and much of his life so that his family may not worry and could peacefully thrive.

Dr. Willmuth passed from this life on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was united in marriage to Margrhea Ashlock on December 23, 1956. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge and proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean war.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Willmuth; siblings, Carroll Willmuth and Sydney Kealer; grandson, Gabriel Willmuth.

He is survived by his son, Jeffery Willmuth of Walnut Ridge; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Willmuth; grandchildren, Landon Willmuth and wife Jessica, Zachary Willmuth, Hartley Willmuth, Haden Willmuth and wife Kasyah, Emily Willmuth, and Madison Willmuth; great grandson, Rylan Willmuth; and a host of other family members.

Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2024, from 10 until 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11 a.m. with Jake Guenrich officiating. Interment will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Landon Willmuth, Zachary Willmuth, Haden Willmuth, Payton Howe, Hunter Yates, and Hartley Willmuth.
