Walnut Ridge-Herman Ray Shaw, 82, of Walnut Ridge passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born the oldest child of sixteen children to Aaron Wesley and Bernice Ivy Smith Shaw on May 25, 1935 in Pocahontas.  He married Anna Lou Abernathy on September 8, 1956 in Hoxie. He proudly served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. He owned Shaw's Garage for fifteen years and was a service manager at numerous places. Herman was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Walnut Ridge. He was a charter member of United Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge where he served as a trustee, chairman of the long range building programs, van coordinator, door greeter, youth and adult Sunday school teacher, and clerk. He also coached little league baseball, church softball, participated in drag racing, and wrecker service.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Carlos, Roger, Larry, Johnny, Stanley, Bobby, Jimmy, Lowell Dean, and Doyle Gene Shaw; sisters, Mary Lataine Shaw, Sue Bond, and Judy Jarrett.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Lou of the home; daughters, Teresa (Jerry) Jones of Little Rock, Janet (Glenn) Smith of Walnut Ridge and Beth (Tim) Malone of Jonesboro; son, Blake (DeeDee) Shaw of Imboden; grandchildren, Adam (Rachael) Jones, Emily (Chad) Sledge, Bekah (Chris) Barnes, and Matthew Shaw; great grand-children, Lily Harris, Weston Jones, Madelyn Sledge, Ian Barnes, Emerson Jones, Evan Jones, Charlie Sledge, and Eli Barnes; step grandchildren, Spencer and Halle Malone.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Matthew Shaw, Adam Jones, Tim Malone, Chris Barnes, Chad Sledge, and James Boulton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Jones, Dr. Jack Vander Schilden, David Baltz, Dominick Johnson, Kevin Boulton, Laney Warner, and Gary Lawhon.
