Jonesboro-Imogene Gilbert, 96, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Community Compassion in Jonesboro.  She was born November 14, 1922 at Alicia, Arkansas to Claude Russell Williams and Beulah Grigsby Williams. She married Ralph B. Gilbert on June 2, 1942 in Walnut Ridge. She retired from Kroger Bakery in St. Louis, Missouri and was a caregiver for many years. She enjoyed working in her yard. Imogene moved to Jonesboro for twenty-five years and moved to Walnut Ridge for a few years then back to Jonesboro where she resided until death.

Imogene (Imo) was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Bud, Travis, Connie, and Adrian Williams; sisters, Agnes Bradshaw, Linnie Phillips, and Geneva McEntire.

She is survived by a sister, Virginia Jones of Jonesboro; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge from 12 until 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Lawrence Memorial Park with Derek Collins officiating.  All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Craig Williams, Logan Bunn, Ricky Swindle, Anthony Swindle, Ray Swindle, and Ricky Davis.
