James Francis Nolen, 101, formerly of Imboden, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center. He was born to Ernest Lee and Margaret Ellen Smith Nolen on June 28, 1917 in Arizona.  James proudly served in the United States Navy on the Battleship Tennessee during WWII and was a retired captain of the Robbery Bureau in Memphis. James attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Pocahontas.

Preceding him death were his wife, Paula Jessen Nolen; parents, Ernest and Margaret Nolen; a son, James Henry Nolen; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: daughters, Margaret Pendegrass (Tim) of Imboden and Marilyn Siebe (Jerry) of Santa Clara, California; a sister, Betty Matacia of Michigan; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, December, 17, 2018 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Graveside services will follow at 1.p.m in Hope Cemetery in Imboden with Father Mariadass Vallapaneni officiating.  All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
