James Clifton Looney, 65, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 in Hayti, Missouri.  He was born on February 14, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to J.C. and Virginia McGlothin Looney.  He married Mary Murphy on February 14, 2013 in Gosnell, Arkansas. He had a love for fishing and Nascar.

Preceding him death were is parents; brother, Michael Looney; and sister, Patricia Looney.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; son, Jimmy Looney of Pocahontas; daughters, Wendy Kratz (David) and Tabitha Goodman, both of Pocahontas, Kathy Bachuss of Cardwell, Missouri; sisters, Brenda Phillips (Lester) of Maynard, Debbie Ripley and Regina Looney, both of Pocahontas; brothers, Stan Looney (Lisa) and Dennis Looney, both of Pocahontas; sisters-in-law, Peggy Thomas of Steele, Missouri, Marie Murphy of Blytheville, and Jane Cox of Manila; brothers- in- law, David Murphy of Kennett, Missouri and Roger Cox of Manila; seven grandchildren, Kelly Bachuss and Destiny Bachuss, both of Cardwell, Missouri, Ashlyn Kratz, Jayden Wicker, Garrett Looney, Issak Crow, and Lane Looney, all of Pocahontas; great grandson, Brooner Peeler of Doniphan, Missouri, and  many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 3-5 pm at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  Funeral services will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2 pm with Jeff Hamm officiating.  Burial will follow at Sutton Cemetery in Pocahontas, under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
