Jerry Don McElrath, 75, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge. He was born June 12, 1943 to Ray and Hazel Burns McElrath in Egypt. He was an independent crop insurance adjuster and was of the Baptist belief. Jerry served in the United States Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Wayne McElrath, Lonnie McElrath and Billy McElrath.

He is survived by his best friend of fifty years, Launia "Boonie" McElrath; a son, Jeff McElrath (Barbie) of Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Tracy McElrath of Marion; a sister, Marlene Chronister (John) of Newport; a grand-daughter, Audrey Varner (Cody); and great-grandchildren, Mason and Maddox Varner.
