New Hartford, NY - Jewel Beatrice Burrus Walker, 94 passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Presbyterian Home of Central New York in New Hartford. She was born on May 8, 1921 in Boynton, Arkansas to Peter Edward and Lovie L. Muse Watson. She worked as a desk clerk in various hotels in Memphis, and was a member of the church of Christ.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Walter Burrus, second husband, William "WW" Walker; and son, Gary Burrus.

Survivors include: daughter, Sharon Piechowicz (Marion) of Utica, New York; step-son, William Walker (Jean) of Memphis, Tennessee; brothers, James Watson (Bonnie) and Larry Watson; sisters, Ruth Waters and Beulah Verkeilin all of Rockford, Illinois; four grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Seth Parnell officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
