Jo Ann Hess, 67, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at her residence.  Born on October 23, 1954 to Floyd Amos and Juanita Ethel Hutson Humphrey in Paris, TX. She married James Gilmer Hess on June 22, 2003 in Paris, TX.  She was of the Baptist belief.

She was a very special lady, so special that she will never be forgotten.  She was loved by so many because she was such a wonderful daughter, sister, wife mother, aunt, cousin, grandma, and great-grandma, she will be greatly missed.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband;  brother, Donnie Humphrey; sister, Shirley Coomer and a grandson, Dakota Smith.

Survivors include her husband, James Gilmer Hess of Walnut Ridge; sons, Joshua Hess of Walnut Ridge, Justin Hess (Kara), Jason Benedict (Cassie), and Melvin Smith (Laine), all of Texas; daughters, Mindy Tribble (Steve) of Walnut Ridge, Renay Filkins (Ernie) of Texas, Christy Gosha (Tracy) of Clover Bend; brothers, David Humphrey of Oklahoma and Buddy Humphrey of TX; sisters, Cletta Mathis and Kathy Henry, both of TX; grandchildren, Jennifer, Phillip, Dakota, Madison, Shelby, Destiny, Blake, Cody, Ashton, Kaeton, Riley, Makenzie and K-Lea; great-grandchildren, Layton, Kayden, Charlee, Harper, Dawson, Cooper, and Hendrix; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Paris, TX.
