Joe D. Henderson, 80, of Walnut Ridge passed from this life on Friday, June 3, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.  He was born on May 4, 1942, in Pocahontas to the late Jimmy and Viola Holder Henderson. He was united in marriage to Rose Woodard on September 25, 1981, in Walnut Ridge. Joe was a preacher in his younger years and was employed with Coca-Cola for many years. He was a member of Elnora Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Rose of the home; children, James Henderson (Sheila) of Shannon, Amber Henderson of Walnut Ridge, and Rebecca Catron (David) of Walnut Ridge; grandchildren, Jared, Melody, Josh, and Gabby; mother-in-law, Della Woodard of Walnut Ridge; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2022, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.  The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with David Davis and Jeral Dean officiating.  Interment will follow in Duty Cemetery in Lesterville under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are David Catron, David Davis, James Henderson, Jerry Cochran, Michael Gray, and Tommy Gray.
