Black Rock - Joe Howard, 76, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at Walnut Ridge.
He was born January 15, 1936 in Monette to Joe and Margaret Vittetoe Howard. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean war. He attended Black Rock Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Howard; and sisters, Lucille Wall, Opal Self, and Billie Kopf.
Survivors include his wife Charlene Phenix Howard of the home; son, Ken Howard of Black Rock; daughters, Charla Howard of Walnut Ridge and Dana Driver of Portia; sisters, Margaret Augustina of Niles, MI and Ruby Floata of Effingham, IL; Brother, Bob Howard of Haines City, FL; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is Sunday, May 13 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service will be Monday, May 14 at 10:00am with Tony Clem officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock.
