John David Howard, 70, passed peacefully from this life on November 21, 2023 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House of Jonesboro. He was born August 19, 1953 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late R.A. Howard and Pauline (Willmuth) Howard.  He was united in marriage to Terry Brooks on May 16, 1975 in Caraway, Arkansas. He graduated Arkansas State University with his Bachelor's degree in business. John David was an avid outdoorsmen and proud business owner of Carpet World for 45 years.

In addition to his parents, John David was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Howard.

He is survived by his loving wife of the home, daughters Brooke (Heath) Harper of Little Rock, and Paige (Shane) Cunningham of Walnut Ridge; sister, Paula Hutcherson of Walnut Ridge; and grandchildren, Finch, Ellis, Hayes, Kai, Tyler, Henley, Hayden, and Hollyn; and nieces and nephews, Rob, Holly, Kara, and Brian.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Jake Guenrich officiating. Interment will be at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bill Wilcoxson, Steve Jackson, Jerry Adkisson, Charles Ellis, Scott Allison, and Randy Golden.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Building Project or the Children's Ministry.
