John Henry Statler, 79, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his residence.  He was born May 20, 1939 to George Fox and Sarah "Sally" Caraway in Egypt. He married Peggy Broom on September 12, 1959 in Pocahontas. He worked in construction for many years. He served on the Hoxie City Council and was a volunteer fireman.    John was a deacon at Hoxie Baptist Church for many years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; brothers, Eugene, Hank, Kennett, Sam and Jim Statler; sisters, Ginger Glover, Geneva Statler, Bonnie Lambie, Marie Prater and Mary Foster.

He is survived by a daughter, Sonja (Jerry) Adkisson of Walnut Ridge; a grandson, Michael Colton Adkisson of Ames, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Lawrence Memorial Park.
