Joyce Ann Duncan, 51, slipped the bonds of this earth, and returned to her home Saturday, November 23, 2013 at UAMS in Little Rock. She was born April 3, 1962 in Memphis, TN to Martin Benton and Essie Faye Embrey Eggensperger. She graduated from Maynard High School in 1980 and went on to graduate from Arkansas State University. She was a teacher at Hoxie Public Schools for 19 years and at Jonesboro High School since 2009. Joyce was always one of the most popular teachers, and she was especially adept at teaching students that are often hard to reach. Her skill, dedication, devotion, and boundless love touched the lives of countless students. She was a teacher, a mentor, and a friend.

She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Eggensperger; brothers, Robert Eggensperger and Michael Cosper.

Survivors include her mother, Faye Eggensperger of Walnut Ridge; sons, Taylor Mackey of Jonesboro and Aaron Michael Duncan of the home; brothers, Roy Eggensperger of Little Rock and Martin Eggensperger of Mountain Home; sister, Carla Tabieros of Oklahoma City, OK; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 29, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Cox-Fears Funeral Home Chapel with Troy Mackey officiating. Burial will be private for the family.
