Black Rock – Karen Lynn Hoogendoorn Mullen, 62 of Black Rock passed from this life on April 28, 2016 at her home. Karen was born to Roy and Marjorie Hoogendoorn on February 8, 1954 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. On October 30, 1970, she married Bill Mullen in Ontario, California. They resided in Portland, Oregon, until moving to Black Rock in 1981.

Preceding her in death are her parents.

Survivors include: her husband William C."Bill" Mullen, Jr. of the home; son, William C. "Billy" Mullen III of Batesville; daughter, Shawna Pfeffer (Brandon) of Ravenden; sisters, Sherry Canifax of Hillsboro, Oregon, Sue Darcell (Len) of Apache Junction, Arizona, Denise Hayes (Richard) of Davenport, Washington; brother, Terry Hoogendoorn(Helen) of Ava, Missouri; grandchildren, Traycie Nelson, Jerrica Mullen, Corey Mullen, Houston Pfeffer, Colton Mullen; great grandson, Camden Nelson, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

All family and friends are welcome to meet at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Steve Alexander officiating. Services will be under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
