Lawrence "Larry" Young, 72, of Smithville died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 3, 1942 in Delaplaine to Delphine and Annie Wheeler Young. On March 1, 1980 he married Brenda Reed in Bald Knob. He was a gear machinist for Martin Sprocket Gear and was of Pentecost belief.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Darrell Young and Fred Vallance; and sister, L. Freda Franks.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda of the home; son, Roger Young (Jennifer Busch) of Lynn; daughter, Michelle Munroe (Cliff) of Strawberry; brothers, Gary Young of Paragould and Neil Young of Jacksonville; sisters, Delorce Tyler of Knobel and Myrna Condray of Paragould; grandchildren, Cody Sutton, Brittney Sutton, Dekiya Munroe, Austin Munroe, and Braydon Nutt.

No visitation is planned. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 9th, at 2pm in the Jones Ridge Cemetery in Delaplaine under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge with Roger Randolph officiating.

Pallbearers will be Roger Young, Cliff Munroe, Darrell Tyler, Billy Tyler, Dillon Ferguson, and Curtis Reed.

In lieu of flowers, the Young family requests donations be made to Cox Funeral Home, P.O. Box 150, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476 for funeral expenses.
