Lavern Madden, 81, of Hoxie passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at St. Michael's Place in Newport.  She was born October 8, 1937 in Marked Tree.  She worked at Skil and Nestle and sold Avon during her life.  Lavern was of the Baptist belief.

Preceding her in death were her husband, J.D. Madden; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey; sons, Curtis Nabors and Rickey Nabors; daughter, Mary Nees; sister Hazel Palamino; an infant grandson and infant great granddaughter.

She is survived by sons, Terry Bailey, Jeffrey Madden, and Tyler Madden all of Arkansas, Rickey Madden and Danny Madden both of Hoxie and Randy Madden of Bloomfield, Missouri; a daughter, Brittany Madden of Pocahontas: brother, Bill Bailey of Rockford, Illinois; twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2019 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge.  A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in Clover Bend Cemetery at Clover Bend.  All arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers are James Story, Michael Bailey, Chris Madden, Adam Madden and Rick Nabors.
